My hard drive is making a beeping noise and isnt detected on any computer. Is it dead?

I just built my own computer and everything was working great for the first day. The next time I tried to boot it up it would not and messing around in the BIOS for hours yielded no results. I heard the hard drive making a beeping noise so I took it out. I have tested it in an enclosure on both my laptop and another desktop and it is not recognized. It makes the same beeping sound about once every 1.5 seconds repetitively. I am thinking it is dead and I am probably going to send it back. Can this be possible after just one day?
