Where do you see the UK in 5 - 10 years time?

The UK is a mess from the aspects of: culture - direction - economy and religion but to mention a few! Newspapers & TV appear to be more interested in people's private lives - celebrities - (for the moment royalty) - gambling and extreme sex. I am in no way a prude but I find the UK, more so England, the pits of Europe and taking away technology I don't feel commoners are any better off than in medieval times!
